Frequently asked questions

How do I add a favourite route?

Menu → Favorites → +. Choose the departure and arrival location, via stops if you like, then the weekdays and the time window in which the route applies. Without limits it always applies.

The countdown shows the wrong route.

The countdown takes the favourite route that applies now: by time (weekdays and time window of the favourite) or by location (the route starting at the stop near you). You choose which in the Settings. If several routes apply, a red dot shows how many; tap it to switch to the next one.

How do I set a timer?

Every departure and connection has a Timer button, also at the top right of the detail view. Use the wheel to set how long before departure it should ring, add more with Add timer and confirm with OK. A green button shows that timers are set.

The timer or reminder does not come.

Allow notifications for ÖV Schweiz (phone settings → Notifications). In Focus or silent mode the phone may show notifications silently; the alarm (selectable in the app settings, iPhone from iOS 26) rings even then. On Android the permission “Alarms & reminders” is also needed so that the notification comes on the minute.

Do I need internet?

For connections, delays, platforms and nearby stops, yes. Without a network the app shows the departures from the offline timetables you have loaded.

Which timetable package should I load, and what does it cost?

The package containing your stops; the map under Offline Timetables shows it. Whole Switzerland CHF 20.–, each region CHF 3.–, each city CHF 1.–, one-time, no subscription. The online features need no package.

I have a new phone – are my purchases gone?

No. Under Offline Timetables tap Restore; you need to be signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account as when you bought. Then load the packages again.

Do my purchases from Offline ÖV count?

No. Offline ÖV and ÖV Schweiz are two separate apps with their own purchases; the stores do not transfer purchases between apps.

The times are wrong.

Online, the app shows the data of transport.opendata.ch with the reported delays. Offline, it shows the yearly timetable and does not know about disruptions, construction work or holiday rules.

How do I delete my data?

Delete favourites, timers and history in the app, and timetable packages under Offline Timetables. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
